February 2025-UMCOR – US DISASTER RESPONSE & RELIEF
UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on its own. Through UMCOR, United Methodists extend loving care to people within the United States. When disaster strikes, it is local churches that provide the first response to their communities. This basic understanding—that disaster response is local—forms the foundation for UMCOR’s US disaster training and response. When responding to a disaster in the United States, UMCOR provides training, financial assistance, expertise, community collaboration to churches and partners making them more resilient to disasters.
January 2025-BACN
In 1983 the Benzie County worship communities joined together to serve
Neighbors struggling with critical human needs. Since those humble beginnings Benzie Area Christian Neighbors (BACN) has transformed from a charity providing basic needs to a community nurturing the spirit of those they serve. The philosophy serving with dignity and respect has become a trademark for BACN and its belief that all Neighbors have gifts to give and needs to be met is the premise in which the organization operates today. Benzie Area Christian Neighbors (BACN) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of lives. BACN is a tax exempt 501c (3) non-profit human services organization providing services for people of all ages throughout the Benzie/northern Manistee County area.
